FEATURES THAT YOU WON’T FIND ANYWHERE ELSE!

Here are three of the more spectacular features of this particular multimedia implementation:

1. You can listen to a synchronized song without having to listen to the whole thing at one time. All that you have to do is to press the S (Save) key just before closing the window. Then a new URL will be created which can be saved as a “Favorite.” If you might be using a different computer next time, you can copy / paste the URL into an email message and send it to yourself. The next time that you go to the URL, the synchronized audio / text will resume playing on the same page!

2. In addition to the usual audio functions such as fast forward, rewind and pause, this implementation includes a function unique to audio with synchronized text. It allows you to scroll to a particular part of the text and then press the Q (Cue) key to cause the audio to instantly begin playing in synchronization with the currently displayed text!

3. The same set of timings will work with any font family, font weight, screen / window size, or screen / window shape! In fact, even while the audio is playing, you can use the N key to change the font weight / font family, and you can use your mouse to change the size and shape of the window. Through it all, the text will still be in perfect synchronization with the audio!

(Kṛṣṇa’s mercy!) This website uses Sanskrit diacritics with no special font required. It uses the “Segoe UI” font. “Segoe UI” displays 30 out of the 31 standard ISKCON Sanskrit diacritic characters correctly using Firefox 2, and all 31 correctly using Internet Explorer or Firefox 3. If you are using Microsoft Vista and/or Microsoft Office 2007, then you already have this font installed. Otherwise, download and install “SegoeUI.zip” (974 KB). If you don’t have the “Segoe UI” font installed, then the “Tahoma” font is used instead. The versions of both the Tahoma and the Microsoft Sans Serif fonts which come with Microsoft Vista and the latest versions of Windows XP display 30 out of the 31 diacritic characters correctly. To get enhanced versions of the Tahoma font, the Microsoft Sans Serif font, and the Lucida Sans Unicode font which display all 31 diacritic characters correctly on all web browsers, download and install “fonts.zip” (702 KB - Updated: August 3, 2006). To compare the way these four fonts should look to the way they look on your particular computer / web browser, click here.
